As our students consider life beyond Year 10, it is important for us, as a College, to support them as they think and plan for further education, training and future employment.
Many students wish to make their own decisions about their future. Many are uncertain about "what they want to do". They need to know that it is usual to feel this way and that help is available to assist them to draw on past experience, learning and skills and to cope with the challenges that come with this transition to further education and the future changes in their life.
Staff at MacKillop Catholic College work to ensure that students in every year are able to access information about educational and career pathways that best suit their needs and interest.
Our Pathways Co-ordinator supports students and their families as they make decisions about subject selections, work experience, school-based apprenticeships/traineeships, VET courses and senior secondary courses. The co-ordinator will provide information and guidance, and present the options available to students and their families, while working closely with our VET Co-ordinator and staff from Guilford Young College (GYC). Students and parents are welcome to make an appointment to speak with our Pathways Co-ordinator throughout the year.
