Performing Arts

Throughout the school year, MacKillop Catholic College students can develop their artistic potential by being involved in many performances including the biannual College Musical. Students have the opportunity to unpack scripts, discover text and learn how to make meaning from script, follow stage direction, become a character, improvise and create theatre.

Students involved in Performing Arts also have the opportunity to be involved in the annual Ember Festival and Fusion.

MacKillop Catholic College aims to use a blend of delivery methods for career education.  Embedding careers into the curriculum is broader than infusing careers into school subjects, although this is still important.

MacKillop Catholic College is located on the traditional homeland of the Mumirimina people of the Oyster Bay Nation who were born of, lived with, and cared for this land for many generations. We acknowledge the deep connection to Country and Culture of the custodians of this place, the Palawa / Pakana of lutruwita. We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community and pay our respect to Elders past and present. We are committed to learning alongside the children we teach in this place, and the community that we form a part of, to support the continued sharing of knowledge and Culture.
