Transport to the College

Students attending MacKillop College come from many areas on the Eastern Shore including: Acton, Bellerive, Cambridge, Campania, Carlton, Colebrook, Cremorne, Dodges Ferry, Dulcot, Geilston Bay, Howrah, Lindisfarne, Lauderdale, Midway Point, Montagu Bay, Mornington, Otago Bay, Old Beach, Penna, Richmond, Risdon Vale, Rokeby, Rosny, Sandford, Seven Mile Beach, Sorell, South Arm, Tranmere and Warrane.

Most students travel to school by bus and satisfactory arrangements are now available from most areas. Those students who are dropped off or collected from school enter via the main Goondi Street entrance.

Specific bus arrangements are as follows:

BELLERIVE, HOWRAH, TRANMERE

Morning Metro buses are mainly direct to the city so students alight at Stop 13 (near Rosny College) walk over the footbridge to the other side of the highway and catch a Route 251 bus to the College. These buses pass through at 7.55 a.m., 8.10 a.m. and 8.35 a.m., the 8.10 a.m. one being the best option for arrival at the correct time.

In the afternoon, a Metro bus departs the College at 3.25 p.m., and transports students to Howrah Heights, along Tranmere Road as far as Corinth Street and then along Clarence Street to the Rosny Transit Mall. Students who live along Tranmere Road further than its intersection with its intersection with Corinth Street, alight this bus before it turns into Howrah Road and wait to catch a bus traveling the Tranmere route. These pass at regular intervals.

Standard "Metro 10"bus ticketing arrangements apply, these are available from the school office for purchase.

COLEBROOK, CAMPANIA

Students from Colebrook need to catch a bus which runs from Campania to Richmond where students transfer to a Richmond Coach which transports them to the College.

Students travel the reverse route in the afternoon. Students pay 30cents per trip (60 cents/day). They have to pay on only one bus.

RICHMOND

The Richmond coach departs Richmond at 8.00 a.m. and proceeds to the College via Cambridge.

In the afternoon, the coach departs MacKillop at 3.25 p.m.

CREMORNE, SANDFORD, LAUDERDALE, ROKEBY

A Metro bus departs Cremorne at 7.40 a.m. and travels via Sandford (Rifle Range Road) and Lauderdale. Students can board in Rokeby and the bus then proceeds to the College via Pass Road.

An articulated Metro bus departs the College about 3.35 p.m. each afternoon.

CLARENDON VALE

Morning Service (288) leaves at 7.25 a.m. and arrives at Stop 13 near Rosny College at about 7.55 a.m. Students walk over the footbridge to catch Route 251 to the College at 8.10 a.m.

OPOSSUM BAY, SOUTH ARM

Opossum Bay and South Arm students can catch the 7.35 a.m. (Route 295V) and connect with the Cremorne bus at Rifle Range Road.

The afternoon Metro bus departs the College about 3.25 pm. And goes right through to Opossum Bay.

LINDISFARNE, RISDON VALE, OTAGO BAY, OLD BEACH

A Metro bus departs Old Beach at 7.50 a.m. and travels through Otago Bay. Students alight this bus at Geilston Bay High and catch the 8.17 a.m. service to the College which also collects students along the East Derwent Highway.

A Metro bus departs Geilston Bay High School at 8.17 a.m. five minutes after the above bus, and proceeds directly to the College collecting students along East Derwent Avenue.

An articulated Metro bus departs the College about 3.25 p.m. each afternoon. It travels to Rosny Park Transit Mall then continues along East Derwent Highway through Otago Bay and Old Beach.

Students can transfer at the Mall to a 3.44 p.m. bus which proceeds to Walana Street via Gordons Hill and Derwent Avenue.

Students can also transfer to other buses departing Rosny Mall to Western Shore destinations.

SEVEN MILE BEACH

A Metro bus departs Seven Mile Beach each morning at 7.30 a.m. This bus drops students at Stop 13 near Rosny College. Walk over the footbridge to the other side of the highway and catch a Route 251 bus to the College. These buses pass through at 7.55 a.m., 8.10 a.m. and 8.35 a.m., the 8.10 a.m. one being the best option for arrival at the correct time at school.

Each afternoon students may catch a Metro bus which departs MacKillop at around 3.35 p.m. and proceeds to Seven Mile Beach via Cambridge and Acton Park.

SORELL, MIDWAY POINT

The morning Redline bus departs Sorell at 7.30 a.m. at the bus stop near the Post Office. It travels via Tunnel Hill and Cambridge. An afternoon bus departs MacKillop at 3.20 p.m. Students pay 30 cents per trip. Students are requested to purchase tickets as sheets of 10 tickets @$3.00 per sheet.

PRIMROSE SANDS, CARLTON, DODGES FERRY

A Smith's Coach departs Primrose Sands at 6.45 a.m. and travels via Carlton to Dodges Ferry arriving about 7.20 a.m. This service proceeds to the College traveling via Moonar-Loop Streets, Dodges Ferry and Lewisham. This coach travels the reverse route in the afternoon, departing the College at 3.20 p.m.

DUNALLEY

Students traveling to Dunalley catch the afternoon Redline coach from the College to Sorell. There they transfer to a connecting coach at the Station Lane Car Park (Sorell Interchange). This coach departs for Dunalley at 3.55 p.m.
